Im in the middle of spraying my rear bumper and was thinking about filling my towing eye is this a good idea or are they essential ? :-D

You dont need a rear towing eye to get towed only if you are towing someone so if you dont plan on towing anyone then take it off. but keep the front one just in case.

even the front one though u can be towed in other ways ie like on them front wheel clamp things

Well, what if your car needs to be towed outa a ditch and you're nose first in it? :P
Some cars come with a cover which you pop off and you attach the towing eye when needed. Might be able to come up with something?
