I have a supersprint center pipe, on my MK2 VTR and a kam racing back box. When I first fitted the exhaust I could hardly hear any change over the standard exhaust, and then over a week or two it started to get louder, until it reached a nice tone. I understand the exhausts need time to settle in, and it stayed like this for several months.
My car went in to the garage for something unrelated, and when it came back out, the exhaust sounded like it had done just after I had fitted it. I drove the car for a while thinking it might settle itself back in again, but with no luck. And I started to notice when I drove round a corner there was a horrible clunking noise coming from the center pipe.
I have checked anywhere for holes, but haven't found anything. All the connections seemed very tight. And having drove it again for a while, the clunking has stopped, but the noise hasn't changed I'm not really sure what to try next. Any suggestions to what it might be?
