Considering this is a famliy forum the language is terrible, i dont go a day on here without someone being called a C*** and its not acceptable especially when anyone can access the site!
I think there should be a filter of some kind where it stars the word out?
Or i have seen this on another forum- Whenever someone swears it replaces the word with something comical ??
Just a thought

lol,
i know what you mean dan but its the internet and this site is aimed at people 16+ who are used to swearing anyways, maybe you should check the page before showing them the information as there are alot of worse websites around.

In all honesty mate, People who call each other names etc are all mates. Also you say that its a family forum which your right it us but it isnt asif you get the whole family around the machine looking at the threads. The youngest will proberly be around 13 when they start getting interested. I know at 13 i was alittle tareaway and swearing on the internet didnt affect me, which i believe will be the case with most young lads looking at saxo's (you know the type i mean)I know that shouldnt be the case but sadly it is...
I can understand the issue with younger brothers/kids etc but end of the day its the internet and you get pornographic images all over the place like pop up etc.
I would be more worried about what people can acutally access over the internet then swearing on a car forum.
My 2p's worth...;)

I tend to agree with you Dan.
As well as our avatars and signatures, we are also represented by the language we choose to use.
I'm not advocating censorship (provided reasonable limits are maintained) and Saxperience is an open forum not intended for a child audience, but I do find it disappointing that many people seem either unwilling or unable to exert more self control.
I would like to see Saxperience grow to become one of the best known, most loved Saxo Web sites there is, but sadly poor/crude language does put many people off getting more involved.
Perhaps I'm just getting old now. I can remember a time in my life when I thought swearing was cool and I did swear a lot. Then I grew up and realised that it wasn't so big after all.
If people keep losing reputation points for foul language they may take the hint...

What a statement, I agree totaly. I find that some of the abuse with laugage and comments offencive. I have complained to some peeps about this and have been told its the internet so get over it. Should we acept it or not. I am in the not camp.

And there are only "so" many words you can censorise (sp.) The list could go on forever. I myself have implemented a few.

There may be worse out there but still.....self controll over the choice of language used is the way forward. With bad rep points for those who choose not to excersise a wee bit of controll (as has already been sugested)
