As the title says, I am just wondering what are peoples opinions on the saxo's, modify them with kits and wide arches or keep it basic.
So far I am after getting the following parts for €70, there for a 106 but I could make them fit a saxo.

Before people say the bumpers are "gay", convince me to get and keep a basic vtr/s, just resprayed.

When it was in fashion back in the 90's.. a kit like that would cost alot. So price reflects that no-body wants it..
Your shout, but kits are shite.

So what I get so far is that people hate kits and I should keep the car standard. Post pics to show me what ye mean.

just keep it simple and not over the top get some kind of splitter from some sort of car that looks smart and smooth it in. instead of the usual laguna and ibiza splitter
make it look different but bodykits do look over the top on a little car

Some kits can look good but that one is just shit, even the fast an the furious wouldn't feature that!

I appreciate the amount of work that goes into putting decent kits on but imo they are very out dated.

That would look awful!!

That bonnet is just really ugly. Would look ridiculous. Smart and subtle is best in my opinion but everyone has their own opinion I suppose

i think that you should keep the car as standard and do some subtle mods. but its your choice as its your car mate.

Ask now, subtle and smart.
Ask 5 years ago it would have been the kit.
Do what you want, not what others say.

its up to you mate, you dont have to follow the crowd and do subtle if you dont want to, at the end of the day its your car and you have to drive it/look at it :y:

A no from me(up to you)standard vt kit looks the biz imho, these other bodykits look like jelly molds or like someones thrown a tablecloth over the car.

Personally its not my taste.. I think SOME full on kits can look nice, but that one isnt for me!
But as above, its your car.. If you like it, then fricking do iiitt :D

again as a few others have said, theyre just so outdated.. such a stereotype for people who drive cars with bodykits now.. i think theyve become more of a laughing stock than a fashion item as i very rarely see people say "wow" at a saxo with a bodykit..
keep it standard with subtle mods to make it your own, and it will also be easier to sell when you come to sell it ;)

Mate, just do what you think looks nice and any ideas you think of! If youre copying everyones subtle mods you may as well be driving a standard car anyways! Think of how you want your car if money wasnt a limit, and do exactly that cause that way it'd be original :y:

If you like it, do it...people on this site are too concerned with whats up to date! There would have been a time when OEM was coming into play...
dunno
30th June 2011, 11:35
as other people have said before its up to you, imo stealth is the way forward but some people prefer body kits.
I will say thought please dont keep those colours if you do decide to fit it, I really dont think it would suit a saxo.

if you really want to mod i think the vt kit smoothed out de-badged and de-handled nice steels slightly lowered looks great not ott just smart
but as said above if you like the kit its your car and your money brother worst case you dont like it take it off and sell it

Not into the big body kits allthough sometimes they look alrite, if you like it tho give it a go. The bonnet and headlights wont fit tho.

If you get one cheap and the stuff for 70 pounds is, then go for it. Having a Saxo that looks like all others is pretty boring. Just an example, you want new alloys, like 90% will say go VTS wheels all other wheels look stupid. Go your way and make the best out of it.

Subtle mods don`t have to be boring,I think saxo`s have had a bad rep for being a chav wagon, largely due to these overboard bodykits,to name 1 mod.:y:

Bad news for people who like the kit, I got my dad to test drive a 99 106, hated it, going to get a saxo, vt kit it, spray bmw white, slam it, nice alloys.
So not getting the kit now and the fella hung up on me when i told him, will do a photoshop of what I mean.
