Toying between these two as a cheap runabout if i decide to go down the motorcycle route. Has anyone on here owned both of them? ?I'm interested to hear opinions on the c2 VTS and how it compares to the Yaris T Sport. Found two good examples that take my fancy: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2971372.htm which i could get down to £2500 or this C2: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2699095.htm

What does everyone think? It's either a bike and one of these or CTR EP3 Not sure what to do yet ..

My dad has a C2 VTS 16v. Its alright...just a newer saxo really with a quite upright seating position. No view on the Yaris, never even been inside one!

Has he had any problems with it at all? Still tempted to say F it despite insurance and tax and get a EP3.

I love my C2 :) they're nice cars, not the quickest but nippy enough to make you smile! Look good slammed on their tits too!

No problems at all. Cam belt pullys and waterpump needed replacing, but theyre consumables anyway. Only problems they get is the inlet getting play on the studs, wheel bearings and the springs rusting and causing problems. Everything else is the same as any other car with how you treat them.

I agree nothing like a Saxo, in fact I rather the Saxo..seating position is better and the power steering on the C2 has no feeling at all. Theyre depreciating hurrendously too. But in general the C2 is still a cheap tin with a decent engine and nice chassis.

EP3s are depreciating alot too, nice cars though.

Id be really tempted to give the Yaris a good test drive tbh out of the 2 options.

Time to find a local dealer with a T sport for sale, they aren't exactly common though :S

Thought about a Renault Twingo? Quite similar shape car to them both, go for a sport if you can afford one they are quite tasty IMO http://pistonheads.com/sales/2973644.htm

Yaris T-sports are a tad on the rare side, whereas C2 VTS seem a little more common.

If you want performance and a better chassis, than the C2 is your motor of choice. If you want a better build and like the rarity, get the yaris.

However, you threw a EP3 CTR in the mix, oddly enough. Thats a totally different kettle of fish, its a proper hot hatch and has proper hot hatch insurance and costs more to run than those cars.

The Yaris has a diabolical seating position. SOOO high up with very little adjustment.

Not that quick and parts are expensive. Plus the early ones look gash compared to the facelift.

Coming from a Saxo where the seating and handling are actually pretty nice that might be a problem that i'll have to account for. I won't know thought until i drive one!

For the kind of money youre looking at, I'd go for a mint Honda CRX

I've never driven a C2 but my mother has a Yaris and it's probably the worst car I have ever driven. The seating is terrible, the view out the back windows for maneuvering is non-existant, if you drive over 60mph it feels like you are in a roller boot just waiting to topple over, and I'm used to driving a big tall narrow vehicles. That said I've seen a lovely modded Yaris near me and it looks the dogs bollocks, much nicer than any C2 I've ever seen. I expect lowered with a change of seats it would feel like a totally different car.
