What would you have as a first car if you were 17 today?

Think id be tempted by one of these if I was 17 and insurance was cheaper like it was when I started driving. Be interesting what the older members would have as their insurance would be even less.

My "1st car" was a Nova 1.3SR. Cost me £1100 a year to insure, but it never made through an MOT, so had to say bye bye :(

My actual 1st car was an Escort RS2000 (Mk5), cost me £2k to insure.

In todays world, I think I'd probably go for a Mini Cooper, or a One and get it remapped (the Mk1).
Cant really think of anything else to be honest... Maybe a Golf 1.4 TSi.

When i was 17, all i wanted was a mk1 clio 1.8 16v.. got one last september.. turned out to be one of those.. dont meet your hero kinda moments! It was awesome when it worked, which was rare!
