This goes to the people who have gone onto to other cars from there saxo's
I fancy a new car, and some days i want to sell mine to by a new one, but then other days i don't think i could let it go. :/
A few people have said to me they regret selling, and gone straight back to Saxo/106 after realizing their new car isnt for them
Whats your views?
Cheers

There was a thread a couple of weeks back on this :p
I think saxos are good cars for what they are, but I'd never go back!

Welcome to team Germany.
Like I say, saxos are great for what they are, but a 90s BMW is head and shoulders above a saxo in every way.

Haha, I'm at work on my phone mate, should be on page 3 or 4 of gen chat I guess.

Good call.
Far better luxuries, far comfort seats. Smoother to drive.
Saxos are quite peaky, and only really feel quick when you ring their necks (which is fun). BMW is something you're proud to tell people you drive too lol

Wish I'd kept mine, Seem's I sold my 106 to cheap and the Saxo was a victim to conversion for the 106 :(
Saxo possibly has left me with some of the greatest memories, but wanting to go quicker left me in a spot and I bought the wrong car for me :(
I'd return to Saxo ownership but would have to be the right priced shit heap to interest me ;)

Depends what car you move onto.
While I had the 307, I couldnt wait to get the saxo built up and completed. Then while owning the BMW didnt really think about saxo's.
Now owning the Integra, I wonder what I ever saw in Saxo's.
But as Ashley said theyre good for the money and I still would have gone through the same ownership route if I had to do it again and own 2 saxo's.
106GTi to 182Cup to 350z...
Didn't miss the 106 at all with the Cup... Was better than the GTi/VTS in every way.
Compare the Cup with the Zed, I miss the Clio's general fun and chuckability but its worth it for all the luxuries, for more useable power, amazing sound and just a very good looking car that is a lot more grown up than a stripey Clio.

yeah most of my mates are saying, you might feel like shit when you sell your car, but when you get your new one, all that will go away

Yes and no,
I had a go in Auds' VTS last week and I had forgotten all about the insufferable driving position, awkward pedals and stupid rattles.
I miss the chuckablity factor though, and go kart like handling !
I went from VTS - Clio 172 - Astra VXR - now Stage 1 Leon FR :)

Well I haven't made a big change, had a lupo after 106GTi, regreted it! Have a track VTR now I like it, but miss the 106 still. Looking at old BMs, I'd be guessing I won't miss the Saxo at all.

Was glad to see the back of it tbh.
Go to something better and i can't see why you would regret it.
Infact go to something shitter (is that possible) and you probably won't regret it either.
If all you know is Saxo's,as soon as you get something else you will realise how shit they are and wished you done it sooner.

Nope.
The Fiesta is comfier, faster, LOADS more gadgets and I can still throw it around, if not more, because it handles better.

its true i cant see why anyone would go back. Bmw are, smoother, quiet ride, safer, more powerfull, RWD(fun), the driving position is just mental, not as good as jap though! love skylines and supras dash ect.. Look don, easy to make good bhp without spending alot of money... makes more sense when you can afford it...

Did you just say you like the grey drab boring plastic cube dash in the skyline and the star ship enterprise dash of the supra?
Have a laugh dude :homme:

I broke my saxo up, and bought an older jap import with low miles, and have been reaping the benefits since. Although it's a 2.8td and does anywhere between 12 and 33 mpg depending on how you drive it, I've had a years repair free motoring for the first year since I bought my Saxo in 2003, and have a much better vehicle more suited to my life now. Plus I've wanted a Delica since well before I ever wanted a Saxo, now I've got one I can't see myself wanting to drive any other vehicle, ever again. So when my truck finally dies (which should be a long time away yet!!!) I'm planning on a V8 conversion with a Lexus LS400 V8 Mmmmmmm!!!
