What appears to be happening is that when you turn the key off the ignition circuit is remaining open.... (I presume it goes away after startup?) I think this is possibly a fault within your ingnition barrel i.e. the ignition switch is not completely closing... see what some of the others say but I reckon a new barrel will sort it

Auto electrician will be able to tell you if its a wiring fault or switch fault... the barrel will have to come from a scrappers or citroen.,... this depends on the immobilser you have

What model saxo is it? and if it has an immobiliser is it keypad or transponder?

D_G_SAXO
1st July 2006, 01:47
it is a saxo 1.4 westcoast 1999 and it had a transponder immobilser but that was taken off before i got the car so i had the clifford fitted

D_G_SAXO

it was taken off because the immobliser messed up so he had it removed. what sort of price would i be looking for a second hand barrel and is that all i will need is the barrel what about keys ??? and where would be a good place to get one???

You would need keys aswell.... don't know wheres best to get one and don't know how much they are for saxo's from citroen... I'd just raid the local scrappers.... try taking it to an auto spark first though mate

like beefy says its basically if you can imagin the key is being turned when you switch off but the circuit isnt being seperated tell the auto electrician that there is a problem with the ignition barrel circuit and its not turning off properly they should be able to sort it fairly easy if not check for a key and barrel set on ebay
