Can anyone tell me before i jump in, is this an easy job that me and my uncle can do without any 'special' tools?

Or am i better off taking it to a garage and paying them labour to do it for me?

Thanks

just don't round off the alan key shape in the thread as the nut may just spin with the thread, i had to grind mine off

from memory its just the two nuts to come off, but you will probably need an allen key to stop the ball in each end of drop link turning when you try to undo the nut

Pretty easy to do but can sometimes be a pain to get off, Alan key and/or mole grips to secure the joint then just bolts off but before you start make sure you have access to some kind of cutting equipment just incase.

The last time I did mine 3 bolts came off fine but the last had to be cut off.

Well finally got around to replacing the Drop Link's, and the existing ones were totally rotten!

But still, after changing them, im still hearing the knocking noise, not as loud or often, but its still there? Any idea's what else could cause it?

Also, what we noticed, the new bolts on the drop links are roughly 1cm away from the tyres? Could this cause a problem at some point, or is there no chance of it hitting the tyre?
We had the wheels on full lock left and right and it wasnt hitting, and i cant see them making them dangerous, but you never know?

Thanks

Ball joints.... If he know want he doing he should know how to check that.

The drop links do get close, should be ok go out drive it and then check the tyre has no marks.

But yer could be ball joints.

Wishbone bushes could need replacing, there is 2 of them. Or it could be the lower engine mount

I've only been able to find it in 2 separate parts for sale.

Also on the bottom of the fly wheel/bell housing you have a cover which the exhaust mounts to, the bolt can come loose and rattle/bang.
