Hi all,

As you know 'Willsy' has a GT 500, according to www.howmanyleft.com theres 3 left which got taxed this year.

Thought it'd be rude not buy this, I got it off Mandyslover which you all probably know.

I have the car but won't be at my house until Thursday//Friday.

The whole car is going to be restored, not 100% on plans yet, thinking Im going to keep it all original!

It comes with MOT till december aswell! :) Shame theres no engine it in.. Car will come with the original engine apparently it smokes a little bit though, but will be stripped down and sorted.

Hope you enjoy this thread, and keep a eye on it!

Note for Willsy - Your more than welcome to view the car if anything want to check out, like the door decals.

Really don't like bursting people's bubbles about howmanyleft.com but it's a load of poop. (apparently 30 eunos roadsters taxed in the uk) then i tried again and it was 65.

Plus a friend of mine owns one of these too and pretty sure his mechanic owns one too.

Car looks like a decent project though mate good luck with it!

I'm 100% there's more than 3

Willsy engine bay wasn't even bad rust wise. mine was worst.

It was his rear panels that where fucked

But good luck.

Ps if your after any parts. Let me know. Got enough ax stuff to sink a ship.

Cheers mate, popped over this afternoon and grabbed a load of pics. You've certainly got your work cut out.

Hardest bit that ive found so far is getting hold of various spares to keep it original. Its changed hands a few times over the last month now hasnt it, i managed to grab the kit off it before the lad sold it on to keep as a spare, so slight confession there

Thanks Audrey ;) Its gonna be interesting to say the least! Needs loads of work! Have you seen Willsy's? Mines basically got to be stripped to the extent of his, my engine bay rusted exactly the same.

Definately worth doing a full strip down and building it back up from scratch if you've got the time and funds. But would be well worthwhile to know that its rust free after.

good luck with it Liam, glad its escaped the cutting torch lol

And best of luck from me too. Hope you manage to do it and restore it to former glory. Shall keep my eye on progress.

Jason, thanks very much again for today, massive help with regards to the decals. :)

Update time, the AX is at my garage now so we cracked on.

Its alot worse than we thought and struggling to find parts for it, every AX were finding has same rust damage making it hard to replace it.

Weve chopped the drivers wing out ready for new peice.

Stripped the interior to check for rust underneath, buts sound! Getting new deadining for it, as was a bit wet and ripped.

Rear passenger side has been fixed now, just needs spraying, and drivers is on but needs cutting to shape.

Heres some pictures.

How it arrived.

Glad you've managed to get cracking on it pretty quickly :)

The GT bits are very hard to come by now but theyll turn up eventually. Gives plenty of time to perfect the shell and get it back in rust free condition :)

Right, been a long time! Finally got a unit so the progress has started again.

The whole rear is now welded up, fount another 4 holes when wire brushed underneath and re-undersealed.

The plans have changed alot, the fuel tank has been removed due to a small one going in the boot.

I haven't got pictures of holes before we welded // fillered them. Apart from 1 on the sill.

The car in the unit.

The gt500 was limited edition over here but in France it was called the ax volcane and sold in larger numbers. If you really get stuck for bits like the silver grill etc see french ebay!
