Total bastards... Used to have my iPhone insured with Premier Plan.. This was 14 quid a month... Saw the Protect your Bubble advert on tv, thought i would give it a go, they gave me iPhone insurance for 6.99 a month, which included loss...

I took the cover out on Sunday the 19th of June... Well on Friday night, the 1st of July, i lost my iPhone... So after getting all the crime reference number and stuff, i ring up, to try and claim on my insurance.. You would think this would be straight forward..

"we are sorry sir, if you read the small print in the terms and conditions, there is a 14 day period at the start of your cover, which does not allow you to claim".. So they sell you insurance, that doesnt insure you for 2 weeks... Sounds like real good cover does that!

Imagine if you got a new car, insured it, and a week later, some tosser in a Corsa B writes your car off... If the insurance company turned around and said "sorry you cant claim for 14 days"...

Total CUNTS

Alot of companies work like this in this sector. Shouldnt be allowed but the amount of fraudulent claims are why they claim they have it in place.

Still shows why reading the small print is always important.

it stops people smashing the phone THEN taking out the insurance.

tbh - its good business sense!

If they didnt have things like that in place noone would pre-buy insurance and just claim when they smashed it, because unlike car insurance, phone insurance is not mandatory

Not really.

Just wait two weeks.

That's shit mate.

Not being able to claim for 14 days doesn't even stop fraud claims, people just wait the 14 days and then claim.

It helps though.

at least if the phone is completely broken they can see when it was last used.

I like how most of the phones on ebay, seem to say "the phone gets no signal, i dont know why.. Also comes with no box" BECAUSE YOU STOLE IT AND IT GOT REPORTED YOU PIKEY BASTARD!!

try amazon for the reconditioned ones.... slightly better or you'll end up wasting another shed load of cash unnecessarily.

If they're hooked into the mobile operators they can have a history of IMEIs you have used for the sim card. If you claim your phones broken yesterday yet the IMEI of it hasn't been registered on the network for 14 days or its just got stolen and youve not used that sim card for 14 days.. they wont pay out.
