because we was both in the wrong lane
and thats basically it, no speeding and my vtr was written off.
insurance will be going up to 6000 on the vtr from 1700.
and 4000 on a 1.1 so i really need to get something sorted, otherwise im fucked.

Get quotes on other cars and sell the Saxo?
both in the wrong lane? that doesnt constitute as negligence, if hes fully driven into the side of you then you have the "there to be seen" argument. i wouldnt be accepting any liability simply on the basis that you were in the wrong lane unless that fact had a direct impact and caused the collision

the 4000 was 1.1 pug :O

If he was in the wrong lane i'd try and claim 50/50 liability at least mate.. after all he went into you!

6th July 2011, 22:59
Ya you might be able to get away with going 50/50 with the other driver.
its 50/50 at least, id tell him to go through insurance but if he does you'll be claiming from his as well.
ive worked in motor insurance claims and liability for the last 4 years

Expensive lesson to be learnt there!
If you had being in the right lane you wouldnt of had the accident!
No sympathy!

It his fault as he was going right from the left hand lane
Argue it out
He is in the wrong, tell your insurance you will not accept any liability

I can't see how it was his fault, surely it was your fault... You went right at the roundabout in the left/outside lane round the outside... Had you of used the inside lane like you're meant to he wouldn't of crashed into you.

If you were taking one of the last exits (i.e more than half way round), you are supposed to be in the inside lane of the roundabout until you signal and turn off
You say that he was in the inside lane then thats correct, therefore you are in the wrong and not him.....

Is this going through as a full claim against you? Have you accepted liability? If not try going 50/50.
Make a better drawing and send it to the insurance.

red lines aren't clear enough to where the lanes should be going then.

If you were in the left lane but wanting to turn right then you are in the wrong?
No amount of drawings and excuses will change that, alot of rb are markd up as right lane for going straight ahead.
Enjoy the bus.

Haha I see, you were in the 'straight on only' lane and went right, and he were in the 'right hand only' lane and went straight. This is the trouble with big round abouts with traffic lights, is that they can be tricky to judge and you have so little time to get into the correct lane. He still hit you though so its his fault, but 50/50 best bet.

depends on the road markings but sometimes such as countess wear near me, you can be in exactly the same situation and the guy in yellow is 100% in the right, you are 100% wrong. the left lane is normally straight on only and the right lane is "carron on the roundabout" or you may exit.
here is an example:

No matter what anyone on here says, unless you accept liability then it will be down to the insurance company to decide and they don't always go the way you expect...

100% your fault, it would be good if you could get 50/50,
left lane for A4232 ONLY and right lane for services, M4(W) and A4232
i assume you tried to go into the services lane.
