My mum left her MR2 at a toyota dealership as they were replacing one of the drains under warenty.

Anyway she got the car back I noticed a few scratches on the petrol cap and the door but it looked like they had been touched up with a paint pen which I knew weren't there before. So we confronted them about it and all they said was it was there before but if we took it they would touch them up. I thought it was weird that they offered to touch it up.

Anyway my mum took it down and when she got back I went to have another look and noticed that the rear quarter paint shade didn't match the rest of the car on on closer inspection its recently been replaced as all the bolts are brand new, it doesn't line up properly and there's some over spray on it. I also found another scuff right at the bottom of the door and it seems that it should continue onto the rear quarter then finishes on the rear bumper.

The garage said they don't know anything about and I know for a fact it wasn't like this before but it's just our word against there's.

Just thought I would have a little rant on here about it.

Did you speak to a manager or just dealt with the labour monkeys?

Yea with the manager, asked to speak to him, but he just denied everything. Then said "we're not in business to wreak our customers cars" yea right.

When I used to go to Renault, they did a visual inspection and noted any scratches or marks etc and I had to sign something to confirm this before they would even look at the car.

If you know it happened in their possesion, go back and speak to the manager and if that doesn't work ask how to complain etc

Have you got any recent pictures of the car - before it went into there?

I got a flat yesterday, so I had to get my locking wheel nuts off, but because I lost my key thing for it I got a local garage to take it off and he put the spare on for me... However, he put my alloy where the spare wheel goes and took a fucking chunk out of the alloy and scratched it :(

I've been thinking of claiming or whatever, but because of stuff I know he's been through and that, I think I might just leave it.

I'm thinking of changing the alloy colour or getting them all resprayed anyway.

Matt, if it's a main Toyota dealer then you should go back in and ask for the names of the people who were involved with the work on the car and then ask for contact details to their head office complaints department.

I work at a Toyota/Lexus garage as a mechanic and before we even get in the cars we have to do a visual inspection of the car or the service advisor does it with the customer
