hi people, just got a lil question just abit confused about private plates, i got a private plate for my 21st a few years back been on my car since, but im putting my car up for sale in a few weeks, and im off to the dvla office in chelmsford tommorrow to change my plates back to original ones, but im bit confused as im selling in a few weeks, what achually do i have to do as the log books wont be the same as it takes a while for the log books to come back in the post with the original number plate on them? sorry if i aint explained it too well but how do i go about the logbook theory about selling my car and waiting for my logs book with original plate? also any ideas how much it costs to change back ? cheers adam

You put your plate on retention £125 or if you have another car to put the plate on you can transfer it straight over £80 log books dont normally take that long 2 weeks max Normally, dont quote me on this but dont you change the log books there amd then at the dvla office??
