Hi guys got new beam on today... having problems gettignthe bar out to lower it! my mates off to get a bolt with a good thread on tommorow for the end to wind in or something? I dont know how to do these but hes pretty keen and knows alot about cars etc, is it just a case of keep smacking it until it comes out!? Anyone shed some light on this please cheers.

Yeah basically just take the torx screws and washers off the end of the bars and disconnect the dampers, then hit it out they are usually pretty well stuck and take a bit of getting out, I find the best way is with a solid bar on the end of the torsion bar then hit with a big lump hammer/sledge hammer usually frees it eventually! lots of wd40 too :y:

hey i have always used an m8x100mm bolt with a nut to make a puller then hammer the bars from underneath to shock it, then keep tightening the nut down and repeating. saves risking the arms pulling out and bearing damage.
for the puller wind the nut to the bottom on the bolt, put a few large washers up against the nut, and find a shallow socket big enough for the end of the torsion bar to sit in..... then tighten the bolt into the bar untill its tight as you dare, then as above keep tighening the nut and hitting the bars :y: good luck, Jonny
