]Hello all, so yesterday driving on m69 to brum bonnet flew up and smashed windscreen and did a bit of damage to top of car, so unfortunately had to get new windscreen on today and new bonnet. Fitted bonnet properly but when I go to shut it the Bonnet pin won't go in the catch iv replaced the catch but it's the same issue was told the pin is not aligning to the catch because sumats bent or something so had to pull it out but have had ago at this can't seem to get it to catch been thinking of aerocatch but havent got a clue how to install lol any ideas. sorry for the long essay lol bit of newbie

never heard of an aerocatch in my life

but it ould be a common phrase.

wrong section unless we can have a general chat on these catches

aerocatches are exactly what you've just posted that gif file of matt...

Buddis, google 'aerocatch'. There's lots of info on their website about how to fit them and different styles

i had the same happen a few years ago when i still had a metal bonnet, my own fault for not shutting it properly.

i fitted aero catches on my fibreglass bonnet, top tip is dont use a jigsaw on a metal bonnet, it will ripple/distort the panel. if you can drill 2 holes with a holesaw the size of each end of the catch (for example 50mm for the big end, 25mm for the small end and cut between with a grinder.

i would recomend a dremel and a careful hand but youd need a decent cutting metal bit for it.

So do I have to take the catch that's already on at the minute, and after fitting aerocatch will it shut and lock as normail

you can use both, might aswell leave it on as it means people cant get under your bonnet without pulling the release in the car
