The only way i can work it is... You're 26, so lets say you're 27 and have been driving for 10 years...you start in 2001 when you're 17..

So assuming you got 5 in your first year, and none in your 2nd year (As you are only allowed 6 in your first 2 years driving or you get banned)

You get 5 points, then 0 points (so you dont tot up to 6), then the next year you get 6 points to take you to 11. Then the year after that, 3 years have passed so you lose 5 points, but you gain another 5 which keeps you at 11. Then the year after that, you aren't due to remove any points from your license, so you can gain no points that year or you will be over 12 points. Then the year after that, your 6 points come off, so you can gain another 6 to keep you at 11

Year - Total current points - Points expired/Added

2001 - 5 points +5
2002 - 5 points +0
2003 - 11 points +6
2004 - 11 points -5 +5
