ermm yeh but the bars I use seem fine. Try working on your grip? Im doing all my arms together at the minute (due to knee problems stopping me training legs :n: ) so I do tri's, bi's, forearms and grip.
A good one I do is superset wrist curls (either palm down or palm up) with gripping a 20kg plate in each hand. Try counting to 30 when holding them. My fingers get the burn ha.
Or try a pinch grip, holding 2 5kg plates in each hand, pinching them together. Fucking knacks hahah

Sounds killer mate! I normaly do two finger pull ups alternating so index fore finger. Thumb and index etc. Also do the wrist curls. I think it's because my hands start to sweat inbetween sets makes me loose grip

chalk and straps and spit occasional sawdust... just dont get the chalk everywhere and gym will be ok. its when it gets all over the floor and the bars are filthy with it that it becomes an issue with complaints from other gym users.

As for the question, I was using chalk but decided to lower the weight. I get the same problem in that my hands sweat like mad.
As for grip strength, don't think wrist curls are the way forward tbh, it's not functional. Stuff like heavy shrugs, naturally doing deadlifts etc will increase your grip strength. Try hanging for as long as you can, preferably on a thick bar, and use as thick a bar as you can. Bucket of sand and digging your hand in and twisting is good, as is wringing out a towel repeatedly.
I'd just lower the weight though, or use chalk, or at the very very worst, use gloves with no wrist supports if you absolutely must, but then I'd do an awful lot more grip work if I were you.
EDIT: What sort of bicep curls do you do, if any? I'd try doing reverse curls, hammer curls, and as for squats, maybe try hack squats as well. Anything that requires you to grip, and always grip HARD.

My main problem is my callus's or however you spell it, when doing anything above 100kg for deadlifts, shrugs etc i struggle to hold the bar for more than 10 reps, even got to the stage where it bled at one point! If it gets to bad now I use wraps that I've got but it takes alot of work out of the forearm that I want to be using tbh.
Anybody used big back grips or something similar?

Chalk everytime!! If you are concerned about the mess just buy liquid chalk as already said, no mess and just as good. http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/liquid_chalk
and it will last for months.
Straps/wraps are pointless imo!

slightly on topic...
Im not a gym-goer, so I have no idea; is 100kg a decent deadlift?

It's all relative isn't it... It's not bad, nothing is intrinsically bad, but if you've been going for years and are only doing 100kg, then it's not great. I've been going to the gym seriously again since maybe April and I'd never even done deadlifts before, I can do 100, probably more but I've never tried and wont be for a while due to my knee hurting.
@ scot-ish, you mean 280kg? Seriously?

ooops lol, 180, although i reckon 280 wont be that far away from me, as i normally finish on 200/220 for 4/5 last few weeks... the hook snapped half way up and nearly pulled my other arm out of the socket-- dont buy them!!! i've now got some ampro leather straps, and they are hardcore, although they give yer wrist a fair rub/burn there rated to 500kg, so should last me a while yet lol.

Lol, only thing I'll use is chalk if my hands sweat too much... if I can't lift it without using stuff, then I can't lift it...
