Hey, I want to replace my speakers in my mk2 saxo, firsty since this is my first car im a complete n00b and know very little about ICE... so i was wondering if putting new speakers in is just a case of taking out the old ones and connecting the wires to the new ones and screwing them back in.
also how are tweakers put into the car? holes drills or sticky pads...

secondly i would like your oppinion on these speakers; perhaps you could recommend better ones... my limit for speakers in about £200 but every1 on the forum seems to be raving about the Boston Acoustics S50's.

I already have a decent enough JVC headunit.

wouldn't bother putting any in the rear mate....but its upto you, would get the Boston fronts and get an amp to power then rather than the HU, will sound miles better

yea ill evently stick a 10" or 12" sub into it. i havent a first clue about amps, where do i start looking? you see my reasoning for changing the back speakers is because when i bought the car, the guy had changed the back speakers to sony ones, and they honestly give much better sound than the front... i was just considering updating them

any suggestions on amps would be great - thanks

don't bother mate saxo's are that small you don't need rear speakers, only drags the sound backover.
front s50's amp, whats your budget for system ie fronts, amp, sub, amp.
what music do you listen to

mainly trance mate, i would like to spend about £100-£150 on an 10" or 12" mtx sub

some1 i know is selling this one for £130 including an enclosure. http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xGS-Mtx_Thunder_4500_T4512_44.?redir=1

£150 on speakers max. is there any upside or down side to upgrading back speakers? dont know much about amps so dont really know what to say about them, perhaps u could recommend one that would suit me...

Theres nothing to gain from uprating the rear speakers exept a lighter wallet and a worse souning system. Basically dont do it.

All you need is good fronts amped up
Sub and amp in the boot.

As for a sub I would be looking towards JL, Focal and RE if you want quaility for your money. If you like trance go for a 10"
