be cheaper just to find someone breaking a saxo and change the window your self, saves the hassle off going though your insurance as well

For the sake of £70, I would rather have a brand new screen with a guarantee, fitted by a professional.

My new one cracked after 3 weeks (stone hit it) and autoglass came back out and fitted a new one for free :)

It doesn't affect your insurance anyway

Nah I have claimed for 3 windscreens since I have been driving, never affected my no claims bonus in any way.

If it did then I would get a 2nd hand one like you suggested earlier

Thank god this thread is already here.

Seems that whoever looks after the roads round here (not sure which ones highwayr or council are exactly responsible for) thinks its a good ideal to now use that loose stone shit all over dual carriageways here!!! absolute wankers!

Of course even though i can happily abide by the advisory temp speed limits it doesnt stop van men and lorry drivers who dont give a toss continuing as normal - hence a large crack in the Ibiza's screen :(

Can anyone confirm that aswel as not effecting no claims bonus for windscreens that the insurance companies wont unfairly rape me with an insurance increase next year just because ive been unfortunate and had to contact them other than for a renewal?

No mate it wont harm your ncb. Just a one off pyment of £70 to them and they fix it the same day or if you go with autoglass you pay them the £70 and they sort it all out for you with your insurance.

^ Yeah it specifically states it will not affect your NCB (it does in Elephants docs anyway). I had a new windscreen a few months ago with Co op and I have just got an extra years NCB, with no mention of the windscreen replacement.

Thats a relief. Its bad enough having to pay out for the new windscreen without insurance companies taking a cheap dig at your pockets

Mine was £70 with admiral. the guys that came to do it though were in such a rush they didn't even turn their van engine off and they broke the windscreen taking it out so glass went everywhere. They were proper rough with my car!

Autoglass don't work with Admiral/Bell/Elephant. (:
