Not sure if white spirit was a joke or not. Dont use any spirits or thinners etc. Just soapy water.

yer was wondering what like tht stuffs like u use on glas and drys then polish it off? or will it damage them?

Cleaning just use a non amonia based glass cleaner.......ideally use a glass sealant aswell.

If they are scratched then ive found Brasso is the best product to remove them.

Solvents will make the plastic go white.
