Golf GTI or Saxo VTS?

im wondering what to get next, like the shape of golfs but also like the saxo because there small.....What do you guys think?

I like Saxo's but saying that, golfs are well made and reliable, but im sure you would get an insurance quote to go with it! if your young!

im 17 but i will be getting it when im 19. Its the MK4 dont like the 5 and the others are a bit old lol....
what group are golfs to insure?

beofore i got the VTS i got a few quotes for a mk4 Golf GTI!

Insurance for me was a joke on the golf!

What so you planning what car to get in 2 years lol, Im sure there will be something else you want by that time. Insurance on both will be a killer too.

all gti's in mark 4 are below the vts for insurance unless its the anniversary

2.0 8v will be less power than vts as only runs at 115bhp

1.8 16v gti or turbo are the better options ( the 1.8t is actually lower insurance than my polo iirc)

tbh id always chose the golf due to the mod cons and build quality

you'd need to drive one though tbh!

I have drove one - i was not impressed. It felt to boring to drive and heavy. I think thats only because i have only ever driven a saxo and polo as i am only 17 lol...

golfs are pretty boring around town, but when u put ya foot down thats when u feel the power

tbh if ya buyin it to rag around then buy a vts

what polo did u drive? my polo is the mini replica of the mark 4 golf in drive and handling

vw are bringing out a golf 1.4 gt with 170 hp which is both turbo and super charged. Now that will be a beast.

i would get the VTS but if i did get the golf i would get the GT TDI and re-map the ecu and superchip it. it would be really quick and the insurance quotes you get on diesels are a lot cheaper if you are young. thats what i would do.
