at my mates. Car was in pretty good nick for a 16 year old car. Then my mates pressure washer had a go at the car, and has lifted loads of lacquer off the bonnet. I could just about cry. Will need to get it resprayed, which should be interesting trying to get a match on an old car.
I thought his attachment seemed a bit powerful. Lesson learned. Be careful out there.

I've seen this happen far too many times. Stonechips, people try and power wash them off and end up stripping the lacquer off the bonnet.

Yeah thats the thing, Id used my pressure washer before, with the fan attachment which is pretty low pressure but good for washing the car. His seemed a bit higher pressure, shouldve known better.
Going to ring round for comedy quotes for a respray.

When I got the Mx5 home I stripped all the laquer off with the pressure washer. But it was on purpose, couldn't stand seeing it half peeling and half ok. Just got rid of the lot and re-laquered.
