I have a mk1 vtr and the central locking is really bugging me. I have been searching to find a solution but so far nothing has came up so i'm hoping somebody can help. I can only lock the doors individualy, there is nothing happening regarding the central locking. I have checked out the CLU is correctly fastened but that has done nothing. All that happens when I try and lock the car is the CLU makes a clicking noise. I have checked all of the motors are connected correctly and they are. The only thing is that the sensor from where the interior light is, has broken and is disconnected but I dont think this should have an effect? Would appreciate any help that can be offered, cheers.

I know you said that you have checked the connections, but I had a similar problem. I found out that mine was doing this clicking noise and having to lock the doors separately because within the drivers side door, where the door pin attaches on to the "little black central locking box" via a white piece of plastic, on mine when you tried to lock it this piece of white plastic came loose.

Might be worth checking yours to see if its this problem? All I had to do to solve mine was place the white bit of plastic on to nib of the black box and rotate the box by 45 degrees to the right. (Sorry for lack of part names etc, I just found that this worked when mine was wrong)

Where was your clicking coming from? The noise I keep hearing is coming from the module behind the glovebox? I hate french electrics lol

The clicking I was hearing was from the little black box inside the drivers side door...
