Depends why you need new drive shafts.
You could end up needing a new gearbox or worse!

the drivers side 1 is making a pretty horrible noise when ever i lift of the throttle, think they must jus be worn out :/

depends on the noise tbh if its just clicking when you go round corners it will be fine to leave it for a while but will need replacing, if its vibrating/grinding don't drive till you have a new one

have you checked them at all? the gator on one of mine came loose the other day, apparantly the standard jublee clip that holds them in place are pretty weak.

It depends on how bad the driveshaft is if the boot(gaiter)has split then you`ll loose the grease from the joint. This is when wear occurs, the cv joint can completely break up on you.
