hello all new to the forum only had my saxo vtr just over a week thought i'd start a progress thread while its completely standard with no mods.. i wasnt originally looking to buy a saxo i was actually looking for a tidy fiesta zetec s but got bored after seeing so many shit heaps i sore this vtr on ebay, the garage were offering it very cheap as it was a p/x to clear so i went along for a look ;) turns out it was a little bargain the car had only had 2 lady owners from new (1st lady for 9 years) its been very well cared for and completely standard also has full documented service history including cambelt change and to top it off 9months mot and 9 months tax :y: all for only £795 ;) :y: anyway here's a few pics before the mods start..

plain black mudflaps (already got)
aero wiperblades
darkend headlamps or morrettes
vts mk1 spoiler (already got)

here's my 1st mod, standard grill with slats cut out using a dremmel then i sprayed the badge black and cut and fitted in some black mesh. i had a bit of a laugh the 1st time i fitted it as i forgot about the bonnet release lever :wall: so when i eventually got the bonnet back open i had to cut a small slot in the mesh so i cud push the handle lol

thanks mate i appreciated that comment :y: nah there quite easy well i say easy it was for me as i work in a garage so have use of the ramps etc.. it mite be a little more difficult on the floor mite need to put the front end on axle stands or take the bumper off but its by no meens a hard mod to do, this is my second 1 ive done so breezed it in about 20 mins as the splitter is virtually the right shape for the sax bumper u just need to cut about an inch off at each end (best done once its full attached) ;)

ive decided to leave the standard rear speakers in as they aint to bad for the subtle install im going for but i need some more bass im not sure whether to build an mdf shelf and have a free air sub so i can keep my boot or get mayb and 8" or 10" sub in a small enclosure so i can wip it out when i need the boot space, any advice input on this would be good??????

u can drill the holes if u like but i just removed the threaded bits from the spoiler etched up the paint where the spoiler sits and sikaflexed it in place then taped it down for 24 hours :y: u'll need 2 rubber grommets to plug up the holes left in the glass from the mk2 spoiler ;)

personally im not a fan of drilling holes in my cars lol hence i glued mine. provided you use the right stuff you should never have an issue with it.. sikaflex is good because aswell and being super sticky once it cure's its like rubber so flex's so these's less chance of it falling off when u slam the boot lid or do 100mph down the motorway etc.. ;)
