Not the type of thing i'd ask here. I've also posted on DW just looking for a varied responce.
basically - BMW paint is rock solid and impossible to polish by hand
i already have menzerna PO203S and menzerna 106FA as well as sonus SFX2 in my range of polishes.
what im after is a selection of pads to match either a rotary or DA polisher. i've read revies on CG hex pads and not heard one bad word.
but which ones would i need?
Red for sealant
blue for glaze?
white for light polishing?
orange for cutting?
any others?

Try the 3m ones Ash,i use these and have been well impressed, also look out for the Scholl pads and polishes,heard good things about them too.
3M ones i use are in this order,
Green = Compounding- heavy polishing
Yelow = Light - Medium cut polish
Blue = Finishing polish

Thanks very much for the info David.
Would those pads suffice for my needs? The swirls aren't very deep but obviously I have hard paint to contend with.
How many of each would you reccomend buying?

You would only need the 3 pads dude, although maybe the smaller spot pads would also be handy to have just to do things like door pillars/tighter areas etc.
If you want iv'e got a set of 3 pads spare that have seen little use,my friend borrowed them to do his Saab but only used the yellow and blue pad and they are all in great condition let me know if your interested and i can let you have them for £20 posted?

Thanks James.
Cheers david, i haven't actually bought the DA yet, but may take you up on those pads.
I think i could get away with just 5 / 5.5" pads as the BMW is pretty boxy and there aren't too many (if any) real tight gaps to get into. hopefully that'll make my life a little easier too as a complete n00b to machines :P

I've used 3M pads and Menzerna polish on pretty much every correction detail I've done Ash (well before I got posted to a base 500 miles away from home :p) and highly rate them. Worked very well on hard German paints aswell.
Used G-Techniq P1 and P2 once or twice aswell with 3M pads and was impressed with them also, but just felt like I had a lack of control than you would with a bigger range of polishes.
