I have just had a VTS engine put in my vtr by Ricky rpm.

My finds it hard to start when warm, it sounds like a miss fire.

I have changed the spark plugs, coil pack, temp sensor, cleaned tb and used injecter cleaner.

Problem still there.

Engine stalls when trying to restart after warm, think could be a fuel problem

It's not da fuel pump or the reley

Problem still stands

What`s the coolant like ie can you smell petrol fumes?I`m thinking maybe an outside chance of a HG on the way out. When it gets hot it starts to lose compression,as said take it back to the guy who fitted it for you.

like i said take it back

S666UKH
20th August 2011, 21:20
Steve it only happens on start up not all the time just sum times.

I smell fumes on the outside only because only because it it's a decat

Here more info

2nd coilpack
New spark plugs
Cleaned tb and tb sensors
Checked O2 sensors
Fuel reley
Fuel pump
Crank sensor
Checked earths and loom

It can't be compression because its runs fine when cold and hot it only happens on start up.

Gonna check ecu next.

I think I sorted it

I changed all the things above, with a 2nd coilpack.

I put my old one back in today and it worked when cold/hot, it even started up frist time all the time.

Going drive it around abit more to see if it has really worked, not going to get to happy lol.

Turned out be my ecu...Rickyp rpm said my ecu was not reading the coolant temp sensor as it was meant to. That explains why my temp was always high and take took so long long to warm up.

So it fixed after all that lol
