has anyone ever taken their vtr/vts/furio kit off to clean the dirt and small stones it collects?noticed a few TINY stones and wasnt sure if its safe enough to remove without causing major damage?

as long as you take it of carefully not to break any major clips, but the shite little clips are fine if you break beacuse you can just go get new ones!

clips are like 14p each to replace if they do snap.
but just a ball ache.

yeah they are real easy to remove, just go carefully not to break the metal clips, the plastic ones - meh - they're so cheap to replace.

Also, one the kit is off, its a million times easier to clay bar to remove all those nasty marks

haha! Don't worry. Detailing clay is amazing stuff. Its essentially what it says. Its a block of clay. Much like blu tac that picks up crap on paper, when you drag the clay over the body panels it lifts minor dirt particles and imperfections not removed from regular washing. You must use a good lubricant too so the clay doesnt stick the car, and wash again once clayed.

I like using Sonus ultra fine clay, though If the contamination is bad, use a more aggressive clay like megs.

Autoglym do a full kit with polishing cloth, detailer (use as lube) and clay in a tin, with a small put of polish and cloth, though Zaino do a good clay and can use gloss enhancer as lube. If you're cheap, use a good shampoo and dilute slightly to get a lube.
