just noticed as i was driving past some shops checking out my reflection in the windows :P that my brake lights are constantly on :S any ideas?
ive looked at the switch at the pedal it all seems alright down there, or is it a case that its dodgy and needs replacing?

There is a short in your wires somewhere, most likely water got inside the rear lights and creating a constant circuit. Take off your rear lights, clean the connectors and work backwards, it will definitely be a short in the circuit somewhere on the rear lights.

Most likely the brake light switch, could try taking it off cleaning connecters and re-fitting/adjusting

Or could have the wrong bulb in? I've seen people fit single filament bulbs instead of twin filament this will create a short circuit and do that

the rear lights are standard ones, ive had my jewel rear lights fill up with water, never seen the oem ones do it, but its deffo a possibility! cheers

the bulbs were replaced by the garage during its mot but obviously it must have been fine then and ive only noticed it today so it deffo doesn't have single filament bulbs in there

Is the car stolen? When the ignition is "hot-wired" it shorts the brake lights...

brake lights now work :) i changed sensors over from the red vts to my vtr and it works fine, i fitted the vtr one in to my vts and it also worked, but i did notice on the vtr, the sensor stuck out further than the vts one so i think it just needed pushing further in
