It was true. Plenty of people had them cheap. Tried all day in work but couldnt get one. Few people had them from Dabs.com. Loads of website were down too.

If you can bear all the shite hotdealsuk has the most active thread on these. ALOT of people are begging for argos reservation codes though hoping to get lucky.

i dont actually own any apple products, thanks. (sony fanboy ;) )

nah, i just meant are they actually worth buying as for that price i would definitely get one.

and as the ipad is the market leader... (which i know is mainly down to "loyal" customers :n: ) but tbh they are rather good.

sales cant have been going well though... £479 down to £115?

HP are pulling out of the computer market along with releasing the tablet with its own webos they admit it was a mistake.

Surprisingly reviews are good on these they look pretty swish also.

Lets be honest its no iPad, the iPad is faster in every way it has more apps and is more supported if your a quick typer the iPad will register every key alot quicker than the HP.

However a tablet is just for dicking around on, while you watch tv on the sofa, your not gonna play games continuously watch films do all the apps, its just a web browser the apps novelty wears off in a few weeks. Their's skype and facebook etc which is all you need imo.

Personally with some drawbacks, i would buy the HP over the iPad just for web browsing as there wouldn't be much else i would use it for, the resolution is the same as the iPad so web browsing would not be comparable.

Although it won't be supported anymore by HP there have been rumors of android being ported onto the hp tablet and i can see this happening in the near future.

It also has Flash! ;)

Yeah, i probably wont be getting one, its a cool thing to have, but i really have no need tbh... apart from maybe leaving it in the car incase i ever find wi-fi! ;)

and hp pulling out of the computer market?! :panic:

I might start saving for when they start reducing laptops :clapping:

HP are not pulling out of the computer market.

The board have been authorised to look at the PSG division and whether it makes sense to sell it off, spin it of or leave it as is.

They are only stopping selling hardware and are apparently concentrating on the software side of things.

Im not bothering doing any updates incase it makes it harder to root and put android on.

After a day of playing my general feeling is that webos is very good at what it does, it just does very little. many many basics are missing, like no msn messenger, no way to do google street view, no decent free file browser etc.

Roll on honeycomb!

My tombstones got shipped today :D

Annoyed i missed this, can't of been much stock in the UK.

Scott
25th August 2011, 22:03
There was a lot of stock. It broke a number of ecommerce records and took down a number of major retailer sites. For sub £80 it's an astonishing bit of kit

I'll have to see argos in the morning.
