Yeah had just come at a shit time. Literally the next day I was due to sell it.

Oh well shit happens. I fixed it myself for £200. Had to get a front end respray which was slightly costly, and needed to get someone to mould the front bumper up by the diamond where it snapped in half.

As for worst experience in a crash...my first saxo 1.1 lost the back end on a tight left bend due to black ice, hit a brick wall and completely smashed the rear end.. funny thing was i was doing less than the speed limit.

i was in my mates civic in leeds going 30mph round a bend. his car went over the line onto the other side (unknowingly). an oncoming clio (same shape as above) comes by at 30mph... Smashhh. it tickled a bit thats for sure. police were there. car got put on a flat bed. left stranded 200miles from home without a car so had to get a 5hour coach back home 2 days later :(

mine was when i had the 1.1 sax.
still an inexperienced driver learning the limits of the car.
ragging it home on a sunny day, theres a nice 'S' bend on the way to my house from town came through it at about 65 (which felt fast at the time in my 1.1) sun was dazzling on the shit on the windscreen so couldnt see much, till i got under the shade from the trees and saw a massive tractor coming literaly in the middle of the road (the roads are not the biggest) so i had to swerve out to avoid him, then over corrected and the back end flew around and piled straight forward into the rock face on the inside of the corner then bounced back and the tailgate was propped against a wooden fence post, the only thing stopping me from falling down a 12ft drop into a small river.

lukily i manage to drive it the last 2 miles home with 2 flat tyres and no water in the radiator.
was nearly on fire by the time i got home.
safe to say it was only scrap worthy, chasis was twisted.
still good fun, car only cost £350 and i got £200 scrap cause we filled the back with loads of other crap like my old vtr axle and gearbox.

did have whiplash tho :/

I've had three accidents but my worst was where I was was driving round a roundabout, I had an mk1 white 1.1 saxo back then and my steering became loose and I couldn't control the car. I ended up hitting one of those safety barriers but I was so happy I just hadn't hit anyone else because it was 5 o clock and there was rush hour traffic everywhere. Scared me to death and somehow I wasn't hurt at all!

I've had a few near misses, when we had all the snow and I had my Vtr, the backend kept sliding out for no apparent reason, 1 mph, 5 mph, it didn't really matter! Same around islands, I was always facing them when trying to go round 1! Turns out my rear calipers had seized in the cold weather and the piston was all the way out! I only figured it out when i went to work on the motorway and 5th gear at 60mph with footdown the car was slowing down, only for my rear discs to start sparking and caught a glimpse in the mirror! Lucky really

Worst for me was driving home in the MX5 during last winter...45mph on a straight road and the back end steps out on black ice, over corrected missing the oncoming cars and piled into a hedge front end in first sideways and ended up rear end in hedge. A49 Leominster to Shrewsbury road, some of you may know it. Long time ago coming back from my ex's one night. Traveling too fast for the weather conditions i went over the brow of a hill that changed direction at the top too fast and lost traction, tried to correct myself, over compensated and put the car into a spin, i span the car a full 180 degrees in the road the back end went up the hedge and i rolled onto my roof pointing down the hill at headlights coming towards me.

Car was a total write off but i was ok, the only time i hurt myself was when i undid my seat belt and fell on my head!

i was doing about 50 and he was said to be doing about 55, very painful, in hosp for a week, with punctured bowel, and burns on my arm, then broken nose and whiplash. luckily he didnt do a runner, he admitted fault and most surprisingly he was insured..

I'll dig out some pictures of mine.

Worst one was probably my 206, came to a roundabout in the wrong lane and too fast. Went to turn left, back went out, overcorrected it and slid the other way. Hit a sloped kurb and bounced up.
Was apparently 6 foot in the air at 50mph when I hit a sign and ripped it out of the concrete. Was told I was lucky to hit the sign otherwise id of been rolling into a wall a few times. Managed to move the seat bolsters aswell.
Was very young back then, typical lad showing off a bit. Definately learnt my lesson after that crash.

Also crashed my saxo into the barriers at Castle Combe on a track day. Wrote the car off but swapped it all to another shell. Front end knackered and managed to bend my seat subframes.

And then last saturday was in the back of my mates golf when we came round a bend, was a car stopped, braked and locked up, went to go round it and was another car coming the other way. Clipped it, hit a hedge and then moved a boulder.

Those are my most notable ones. Had the odd scrape in works vans and such on building sites.

I've recenrly had 2 crashed in 2 months and still recovering.
1st a woman ran into side of me on a round about wrote my car off cat C got it all fized up (spent about £300) then 5/6 weeks later i was stationary on a main road waiting for cars to come the other way so i could exit to the right .. and a BMZ smahed into the back of me at 60mph i was in A&E half the night.

NB: It's NOT fun being in an accident and I despise the people who wish they could be because of making money on it. :wall:
