I need to replace my cat after the last one broke, had a quick look on ebay, found one for a mk2 vtr for £69.99 ... I rung to check it was definitely the right one and after finally convincing him that the vtr is only 8v not 16 he told me that I needed a different one that cost £110.

The thing that is confusing me is that the £69.99 one says fits Saxo Vtr/Vts 2000-2001

Where as the £110 one says fits Saxo Vtr/Vts 2000-2004

They also look identical...

My car is an 02 reg, but if the £110 fits from 2000 then surely they must both be the same fit so why would the £69 one not fit my car?

I probably havent worded this aswell as I should have but if anyone gets what im waffling on about then your help would be appreciated :y:

Thanks!

vtr and vts cats are different the lower price will be for the cat under car whereas the cat in the manifold type will be the more expensive one

no at some point in 2000 i think it was, all cars had to have a type approved cat, thats why you need the more expensive one.
the 69 quid one will be the one for cars that dont recuire a type approved cat.

i hope you understand.

if you put the cheaper one on your car that requires a type approved cat it will fail emissions test.
