Hi, recently purchased a Sportex Race Tube for my MK1 VTR, but the company sent me a race tube for 2000 onwards. I also bought a Decat pipe from the same people. When i rang them, they said that i dont need the decat pipe and just fit the race tube, which i've done. Fits perfectly, but is this ok to do?
Also, where the downpipe meets the race tube (formerly the decat), the bolts there are loose, would this mean i have to buy different bolts?
thanks in advance.

race tube will fit fine.
just when it comes to mot you will have to buy a shorter race tube so you can fit your cat in.
if the bolts are loose just tighten them?

I've kept the cat and centre section, i had a blow right next to the cat before xmas and the garage welded it, but welded it to the centre section, which means i've had to take it off as one.
What i meant by loose bolts was that even though they are extremely tight, they're still rattling. I didnt actually check before i put it on but could the 2 holes at the end of the race tube be bigger than the 2 on the cat, where it meets the downpipe?

its shouldnt rattle mate, if the bolts are tightened up and its pulled the two pipes together.
you sure its not just the gear linkage rattling on the exhaust?
