Today I tried removing my old rack and fitting a new one...I undid the three torx bolts from the engine bay side and unscrewed the 13mm bolt and nut on the inside above the pedals...unscrewed both of the fluid lines going in/out the rack have I missed anything as i ended up getting rather pissed off!!! :panic: its loose and i can move it about but it won't come off...

Any ideas?

No i meant it pivots about as is quite loose but still feels like something is holding it to the backwall of the engine bay

did you remove the metal clip that goes around the bolt inside the car this will prevent the rack coming out as the coloum is still attached if you remove the clip the column joint can then be dropped out of the way

Yeah mate I got it off in the end. As long as you follow the steps correctly and remove the metal clip on the steering rack inside it will come off. Its a bit of a faf but persever!! Took less than an hour but I had the engine out at the time so made it far easier!
