Sister selling her car
So someone picking up later tonight.
The car got no tax due to new law
The person is coming and is hoping to make post office. But they don't seem to care if they don't get taxed.
There insured as from today according to them but I know they won't be on askmid yet. So cannot tax online
My question
As a seller is it any if your buisness If they drive it home with no tax? There decision?
And I should just write a reciept stating had no tax, sold as seen. Date n time. Names, my address?
Thanks

if they get caught, just say you knew nothing about it. aslong as you state it all in writing that it has no tax ect sold as seen, with both of your signature's, you'll be fine

Write a reciept, make sure log book is signed over and you keep relevent parts, as soon as that happens it's not your problem :)

I would have said that is is their responsibility but their would be no harm in writing a reciept just to cover your arse if something does go wrong.

Update
Sister taxed tge car for the new owner. But when he rang the insurance. His card wasnt going through. So couldn't make payment I'm guessing
So he took it and drove home. Guessing with no insurance
Could she be in trouble for taxing the car with her docs?
As there not insured?
Her insurance was changed to another car other day

No not at all. Exagerate it but in the same concept.
She taxes the car 2 months ago when its for sale and someone bought it and drove away uninsured.
As said, once the papers on the V5 are signed and dated you are no longer responsible or the keeper of the car.
Also have a written reciept of sale as this proves you are no longer the owner.

Probably fraud seeing as she wasnt insured when she taxed it.
Wouldnt worry about it unless some sax-p do gooder decides to shop her and the buyer... yawn..
