Ok so i insured my VTR while i was living with my mum about 2 months ago. I have now since moved in with my dad and so emailed Elephant to change my home address.
They said that there would be a 'small' charge. Just got my statement in and £57 later they have changed it!!!!
I mean £57 is bloody excessive in my eyes.
But is this because maybe where my dad lives insurance is a bit higher or are the just being robbing bastards charging me that to change the documents??

Postcodes have ratings (see sticky at the top of the insurance section)
It's likely you changed to a postcode with a higher rating, hence the price increase

Just suprised me as now have £3 in the bank...GREAT!!

They should have told you how much it will cost rather than just taking it. I expect there is an 'admin' fee in there as well

almost reminds me when i first started driving, i did my pass plus and told my insurance, they told me that my insurance would be 40quid less a year. They then told me there was a 60quid admin fee for changing details, therefore i never changed the details to pass plus.

There is a ~30 quid admin charge. Try giving them a call, i've managed to get them to drop these charges in the past.

they'll get money either way! I've never heard of an admin fee though and I changed cars twice on my old insurance for bigger engines each time :P
