yesterday I did 190 miles on the motorway and noticed a problem. When driving straight my steering wheel is at an angle of approx 20 degress (my maths is shit) obviously this is not right so what can it be, is it tracking? I recently took the car to a local garage who told me that my tracking was fine. Yesterday while driving back the steering wheel had a slight wobble which had me worried. Its apparent when turning to turn left into a norm side rd my steering wheel is at a 180 degree angle but to turn right its prob around 1/2 that. its strange, to turn left theres not much resistance in the wheel but to turn right theres a lot more resistance.

Have you knocked or kerbed your front wheels at any time causing a bent steering rack?

mine used to be like this before i changed the front wheel bearings and also had shaking through the steering sometimes, the bearings didnt make any noise as if they were gone but jacked the car up and found play in them, but if its not that id go for track rods not lined up with the steering wheel

i havent knocked anything since ive owned it, not sure about previous owners. I had a rear bearing changed last month when it was mot'd and the wheels have been recently balanced so god knows!
