What do you guys use for cleaning/getting wax or polish off the outter plastic trim? Tried "back to black" already and its starting to fade already!

how big are your pockets, and what are you looking for in the product?

I tried back to black, auto glym bumper care etc and all faded within a week to a few weeks...

Then someone on here told me to use Linseed Oil, my Dad had some sat in the shed, tried it months ago and it's still held the black!
It's sticky / attracts dust for a few days due to being oil, but when it's dry just a quick wipe over with a cloth and it comes up brilliantly. :y:

just because you are a student doesn't answer my question. people have built show winning cars while being a student :/

I use Megs Tyre Gel (The stuff that makes your tyres look all new and clean + wet look)

Seems to last a week or so.

Yet to try the heat gun trick - Next pay day i'll be purchasing one of these.

How long does it last?

I herd that a heat gun restores full and faded plastic?

i wouldn't use a heat gun . your fuck it up .

baby oil lasts a week or two but looks really good and shiney.

You keep the heat gun at a distance and keep moving it.

I'll try the baby oil trick this Saturday. I wonder if it leave it nice and soft lol

Best stuff you can get which will never need reapplying is gtechniq c4, very expensive but like I say it never needs doing again. I've sprayed my grill as nothing would bring it how I wanted it. Now I'm tempted to spray the rest of the plastic as it's so much easier to keep looking good. Just wash with the rest of the car and polish/wax if your doing the car save masking it all up.
