Well its really just a bolt in the altternator- holding it on. Its getting looser and looser and eventually coming out- i believe its been ground away by the pulley above it. Is this just an easy replacement then? Because i think its easy enough to remove by hand now (despite having tightened it up before), but how long is this bolt and will it be fine just putting a new one back in.

I believe its the one which goes into the bottom left hole

There's two bolts holding that type of alternator on small one up top and a long one down the bottom or the otherway around, doesnt really matter.. apart from there are two..

They are both very simple remove as they dont actually go into the engine, they just go through an eye thats pretruding from the engine..

The VTS tensioner is the akward bit, but the alternator itself is a 30 min off with the old and on with the new jobby

yeah just put a new one in, could try a bit of thread lock to stop it undoing itself though I can't really see why its coming out if the threads are ok that is
