I put my dad as the main driver on a saxo westcoast, and me as an additional driver and look at the prices of these insurers.

Maybe it's cause of his no claims bonus etc.

Thats damn ine. Check you did it right cus i wlays used that site too and i am 17 with a westie on my mums with 25 yrs no claims and they werent that cheap they were all about 500 plus. Possibly where you live, did oyu say you will lock it in the garage yeah? I put mine on the drive so that costs more. Check the excesses too, and the ICE insurance, mines upto 500, and windcreen insurance and legal cover etc.

yes it is true.

its 3rd party though and excess is £500.

and id go for the £421 quote, as provident (my current insurers through kwik fit) are right bastards and took 2 months to sort out my complain.

they then wanted £1581 for having a young driver on the policy (same situation as you, named driver on dads policy) even though i was on the policy since the start!

i wouldnt recomend them to be frank, nor kwik fit!

i might be wrong, but after 5 years the additional years do not make a difference to your premium.

also check the NO CLAIM BONUS is protected.

provident class a saxo as a boy racer car! they will follow it up when you take insurance and try to screw.

somehow they cannot understand how my dad (50yrs old) loves the drive and looks of the VTR....

pay the bit extra and save yourself the hassle in the long run mate!
