I bloody hope so because £1700 for a low earning 18 year old is crippling, especially when I am not one of the *spoiled by daddy* kids.
I guess that you appreciate something more when you have to work hard and earn it all by yourself though, right?

Bet you look after it alot more than people that are given £5k's worth of car though.

When i passed my test a ear ago, mine was 2500 on a 1.0 polo, then i got a westcoast, which was £482 more on insurance which is near enough 3 grand. insurance is due in a month and been looking around, got it down to 1100 with admiral! :P but thinking of upgrading to a vtr which is an extra 300.

Was reading up about insurance lately for myself to see the loop holes to get cheaper insurance, but turns out that insurance is going up because of the amount of claims the company's have. Thus meaning the cost needs to be covered so insurance will go up, but a new legislation will be going in soon that basically says if u want to claim u can but if u fail u pay the fees not the insurance company. So this will obv stop alot of people from even trying to claim = Insurance droping in price
Source = MoneySavingExpert i think :S

Well i didnt get a job till april lol, work in KFC (N) haha so not a well paid job :L . it wasnt paying her a set amount, just when i could really. I get EMA as well which literally i gave her all that and i little bit of my wages. Its took me 11 months to pay her back. My insurance runs out in just over amonth and have been quoted 1100 for a year, but it will be coming out my own pocket this time so will have to be monthly.

£1100 is alright tho, when i 1st passed 3 years ago my Corsa B 1.4 16v sport was the same price as a VTR ive just been quoted on,
think im going to just have to pay it i guess, gonna chuck down a £500 deposit what makes it abit more cheaper a month over the year :)

Youre paying extra because the 197 has the shit spoiler on it. aka worst option.
anyway, i'm not too fussed about insurance, i'd like it cheaper but less than £700 a year isn't bad at all for moi :D

How did you use your dad's full NCB if he is the named driver?
I thought that NCB only applied to the policyholder (main driver), I could be mistaken :)
Mine stayed the same, although I don't have a car so now I have 4 years NCB sitting there doing nothing lol.
Will have to get a car/policy in the next 24 months or I will lose it :(

That could have been a child, or another car which is precisely the reason your insurance is so high and will remain high. You are a risk.

I've nit paid anything over £500 for my insurance for over 5 years. I suspect the Clipper will set me back all of £250 to insure this coming year

You'll be lucky if it goes down by much mate, £1500 possibly at best.

I fell out with Admiral like
£500 quote on Type R - good times.
would normally pay it off in a oner but with buying the car, tax and insurance to do in one month wasn't going to happen, so asked about paying monthly...
£888 to pay it monthly! I don't fucking think so robbing cunts. nearly 400 on top (so about 80% on top of my premium) to pay it fucking monthly!
