is this limited edition as it just looks like a standard vts to me?

its got an nfx vts engine, dont all vts's have nfx stamped on the plate on the cambelt covers unless theyve been taken off??

ive asked him a few questions and asked what makes it a ltd edition, he said because its a 53 plate has an egr valve and has a standard 150bhp engine

i wasnt aware that they made a 150bhp model, they made a 170bhp model

Q..hi mate, can you please tell me what makes this saxo a limited edition? its got a standard vts engine in it and the nfx thats stamped on that plate on the cam belt cover is on all vts engines that have cambelt covers unless they have been removed..

A..It is one of the last vts's ever made has an egr valve and came out of citroen with 150 bhp as standard

Q..you can get saxos on a 04 plate but they few and far between, egr valves come on the later vts's and they never made a 150bhp model?

A..I have access to the dealer network mate I know how it came out of citroen but I aint gonna argue with ya either buy it or not mate if I end upp keeping the car I will still be happy its an awesome car and always puts a smile on me face

Q..to be honest mate I just wanted to tell you that your saxo is not a limited edition as stated in your title

A..Ok you've told us mate I know your wrong I have all the paperwork to back it up but thanks for looking mate

Tell them they are beyond officially retarded both for the power claim and the price they are asking.

+ my VTS was newer than that and definitely wasnt a run out...

Love the EGR valve bit

I hope you included more than that in the report. For example why it's misleading. I'm pretty sure the egay staff don't know all about saxos...

Am I right in saying that it pre-warms the cat for start-up or am I WAAAAAY off

think it has to do something with the emissions or something.

edit: had a look: it takes your exhaust gases back in the engine, re-mixed with air to fully burn all the fuel in there. Apparently better for emissions and fuel consumption.

It recirculates a small portion of exhaust gas into the inlet manifold to be burnt again. Reason is to bring emissions down. Basically feeding the engine its own shit

so an EGR valve is a bad thing?

so an EGR valve is a bad thing?

For the car, yes. For the world, no.

For the car, yes. For the world, no.

lol surely that should devalue the car then.

craig180

lol surely that should devalue the car then.

No. Because it has an EGR valve which adds 40bhp to the power output that balances out any loss ;)

i asked this question :p just to be a dick

Hi, im very interested. However i may have misunderstood a bit, but what is it you are trying to say makes this a limited edition? The NFX code is on the cambelt cover for every vts? There is no such thing as an NFX engine, its a TU5JP3 engine. Or have i missed something out? Many thanks

he replied lol

'It is an nfx engine and this iis one of the last vts's ever made with an uprated engine from citroen'

ive replied -

'hi, i work for citroen GB headquarters in slough and im sure they kept making vts's until 2004. Im very interested in this car but what you are saying makes no sense at all. There is no such engine produced by citroen with an 'nfx' engine code, and that looks to be a standard TU engine. Have you modified the engine internally at all?'

(i dont really work for citroen gb :D *snigger*)

'I'm part of the dealer network myself and nfx is the engine code mate its had a new race exhaust put oon it and has been to a mate of mine and its running 150 I haven't remapped it coz the cars quick enough if I can't get top dollar I'm not selling it simple as that'

i said
'So what you are saying is an exhaust system has added 30bhp, is that right?'

he said
'The old nfx engine had 125 bhp this has had exhaust and my mate has tweaked a few things'

he's talking so much bullshit its unreal lol
i reported the item to ebay :)

the nfx code is just whats stamped on the plate of the cambelt cover and just relates to the jp4 iirc that nfx doesnt mean much

That wiki page reads like it's been written by a complete mong.

Sorry I've just realised 'mong' is also interchangeable with 'saxo driver'.
