Hi

Something's lose under the front end off my car. It's knocking on the drivers floor plan.

It's a deep thud type of sound.

I've changed:

Driveshafts both new a month ago
New wishbones also a month old
New drop links
Anti roll bar bushes
New top engine mount
New powerflex gearbox mount

So what could it be???

(all this work was carried out a month ago and all at the same time)

maybe the exhaust knocking under the footwell, did it make the noise before the work was done?

Mine did this until about an hour ago, If it bangs when you change gear, or engage reverse or when your reversing? mine was the middle exhaust mount had split and come off the hanger, So was touching the Underbody.
I bought a new mount and made a tiny rubber wedge and Aryldit'd it where it used to touch.
It's silent now?
If any of that helps, what so ever (Y)

All the cv boots and joints are fine, I've checked the exhaust. It's fine too.

It's something hitting the floor pan :s

Could it be wish bone bush has gone? Although there only a month old and brand spanking new wishbones!

Or what about the main gear linkage. You know the big ball
Joint kind of thing that runs up the the gear stick itself?

I had this same issue, was told it could be drop links, etc but then had someone else take a look and was told it was the suspension top mounts, had them replaced and now no more knocking! Plus the steering feels better.

This is going to sound wierd but have you checked your exhaust backbox isnt posistioned to close to the rear bumper? Ive jsut had to adjust the brackets of the backbox on mine as it was bouncing off the rear bumper as i was pulling away and moving and felt like it was coming from the front end of the car :)
