Looking at getting a Polo GTI 2000-2002 as my next car.
Just wondering what people think of them and what to look out for when buying?
Seen one that looks good but has 100k on it, however full service history so does it matter?
Any help appreciated :)

From everything I've ever read they're not very hot at all..
Look nice, built well just very dull.
Newest shape polo though I very much like regaurdless of performance.

I strongly thOught of this for my last car - ended up with a C2 which is completely diff story.
But everyone I asked said the Lupo GTi was much more worth getting :)

Gearboxes are a real weak point on them so be sure to check the history in that area.
Nice little car actually, not quick but decently specced.

Look nice as standard.A tad over-weight compared to the rivals which makes them not so much of a contendor like for like.Typical VAG build quailty though.
Seem to be holding there price compared to other small hot hatches in the same league which shows how much of a better car they are.
I wouldn't say no to 1 anyway.

I think they look nice. 100k is not alot for one of them, should have plenty of life left!

Exactly my thoughts. Do like the look of the newer shape!
