air temperature sensor

hey guys when i got my car the previos owner had unplugged the air temperature sensor but the trouble is i cant find the cable does anyone no where it goes to?

forgot to mention its a vtr mk1

its a gray plug in with the coil one

And plugs into the top of the air filter box.

thanks for your help guys i dont know whether to plug it back in or not just worried why he unplugged it lol
