Football's football. You know the risks, if you don't like them, don't play. Simples. If there was genuinely nothing malicious about it I'd say you're not in the wrong, just a shit footballer. These things happen.

You have clearly ruined his life. You should break your own ankle to make it even.

JamesR

Risk of the game surely? If I break someone's nose in boxing then tough, the guy never had to fight / spar me?

If I break someone's arm in Ju Jitsu then tough, they didn't have to be there either.

Just ignore them mate, it's a hazard of the sport and can happen to anyone.

Yeah, it makes me laugh how easy they fall down like a bunch of fairies.

They get kicked in the shinguards and fall over and hold their leg as if it's been broken, I could get kicked with shinguards on all day and not feel a thing. I don't get it?

I know it's "Diving" or whatever but it's pathetic. Fags :homme:

you should know how to make a clean tackle
people who dive in with two feet always mean it and usually do it if the player has wound them up by being too good for them

hate dirty little bastards

two footed tackle is dirty anyway, regardless of whether it was an accident or not. so you shouldn't have done it..

in terms of the threats, your going to have to put up with it. if you two footed tackled someone and broke their ankle, threats are the least they could do to get you back for it!

anyone who knows how to play football knows that a two footed tackle is normally a straight red, simply shouldn't have done it!

This man makes a good point..

Footballers are just actors, i'll try to find the video where a footballer get a toilet roll chucked at his head and he falls down in tears.

Only like football back in the vinnie jones days.

Peter_D

Youre showing no sympathy for him for your wreckless challenge, "fuck him my tackle was fine" etc

That guy could have a house on mortgage, and could now be off work for a couple months getting a mere 60 quid a week sick pay, how is he meant to keep up payments on his house with 60 quid a week?

Hes probably gonna need help from family to do things such as shopping etc until he is healed

Youve basically made his life a misery for the next couple months, and thats assuming his ankle does return to normal

Fair enough was a freak accident but 2 footed tackles are a no go because of this reason

Theres a boy up here who has broken 2 peoples legs with his shitty tackles, i know if he ever broke mine then once i was better i genuinely would go straight over to his and break his fuckin leg to make up for the pain and misery i had to put up with

Have a bit of decency you twat

There is never a nice two footed tackle and you should of been sent off and banned for being a shit player.

was i out of order?

Yes.

what should i do about these threats?

You deserve threats.

If I was your manager I would give you a right slap :boxing:

Learn to tackle properly.

2 footed tackles are for cowards!!, i gave up playing a couple of years back after getting kicked to death every week against fat overweight pricks who cant catch you but would rather kick you as you went past.

I've played at a decent level when i was younger, and seen some horrible tackles on young kids that had a good future ahead of them and could have have played professionally!!

Also as Peter D mentioned people have to pay their way in this world, now this guy cant all because you think your a bad man for, and you quoted yourself "Dived into a two footed tackle" you hero.

Join a rugby union team and take a few kicks to the ribs, face, balls, lower back then go back to your football game and go for a tackle. I guarentee you won't go for the 2 foot.

Don't know if anyone was watching the England - Scotland game the other day but a player was stamped on in the face repeatedly and the game continued, camera carried on following the ball and the commentators didn't even mention it. If that was football the game would've stopped he'd be crying and it would be all over the papers.

Two-footed tackles are wrong, if you can't or dont know to tackle, don't play football.

Although every sport has it's risks, why go in with both feet?

I hope in your next game someone with a similar lack of sportsmanship decides to two footer you and does your cruciate for you. See how much of a "nice two footed tackle" it is then.

I hope you get two footed and can't play football or be independent for a couple of months atleast..

Afterall if it's a nice 2 foot challenge it's tough shit...

My mates younger brother got his leg practically snapped by some little fat cunt who is tryna get a name for himself as being a hardnut footballer and 2 footing at any given chance...

He gets sent off frequently and go's out to hurt people we have since found out..

The lad with the injury has now had to cancel his driving test, sell his car he had bought as he has lost his job which he just recently got set on for, stop playing football and has had to give up his place on a lads holiday!

He is absolutely gutted, karmas a bitch and people like that will get a slap in time or hurt badly, accidents are accidents but bragging is a different level..

Even though you say you didn't brag or laugh, you are showing signs of 'fuck him' etc...

Spare a thought

Don't know quite what to make of this.. Two footed tackles are dangerous but you can break a leg (amongst other things) from a normal slide tackle.. Or Sagna the other day? Broke his leg just jumping and contesting the ball with Assou-Ekotto and falling awkwardly.. Ekotto hardly touched him it was just Sagna's own fault.. That's the risk when you play competitive sport..

knight-22
4th October 2011, 10:47
I think all you can do in a situation like that is meaningfully apologise to the player. Of course your gonna get abuse for it from people, but it wont last forever. Unless your names Joey Barton. But at least youve learnt a lesson now, and hopefully wont go in for anymore in the future.
and if someone ever 2 foots you, you can have no complaints!

I know what I'd rather be haha. I see your point, it's a rough sport but the same could be said about boxers, mma fighters etc. I have a lot more respect for the Rugby players though, not to mention the massive pay difference.

Yeah fair point, Sagna fell awkwardly and next thing you know he has a broken fibula...but 'he' fell weirdly, so that's just life. Should Assou-Ekotto feel bad, not really. I could fall weirdly at home and break my fib, should my neighbour feel bad?

But diving in with two feet in the air like Torres did with Joe Allen (iirc?) against Swansea other week is just plain wrong, it's frustration rearing it's ugly head from not being able to tackle properly, not having the ball, not playing well..or just generally not being able to play football.

Look at Eduardo from Shaktar Donetsk, poor lad was as fast as anyone in the PL & a fantastic finisher, along comes a fucking hefty, cumbersome & angry centre half and he's half the player he was, has lost 2-3 yards of pace, a lot of confidence and is a nobody now...im a tad rash when I play but the most I do is scamper round you kicking your shins like an excitable dog due to me being so small and enthusiastic lol, but I don't go in thinking 'f*ck thiiisssss cuunnntttt oooppp!!'

for all the lads that have given a proper decent answer thanks,
but for all the wanna be footballers, grow the f*ck up, i play semi pro for grimsby borough and lincolnshire county,

not like i dont know what a good and bad tackle is, a two footed tackle is not illegal, it is perfectly acceptable if contact with the ball is met first, which is was, the way in which i jumped into the tackle wasnt illegal basically, at the end of the day, all you lot can give it the big licks all day long, doesnt mean you know f*ck all, now get on your bikes and sit on your sofas,

lastly, suck my balls

Who cares if it's legal or not, you're still one dirty bastard for doing that tackle, knowing full well that you could really hurt someone.

Idiot.

And you play for who? Who's that? Eh? Oh, urm... Well done?

+1, a 'semi pro' should never feel the need to go in dangerously, thats what school boys do. I wont say i've never made a dirty challenge, whether it be two footed or not, as I have but I would never intend to break something. To me you seem pretty chuffed with what you accomplished.
