gears 1 and 2 are stiff

Hello everyone I have just bought a saxo 1.6i vtr 2001. Gears 1 and 2 are difficult to get in. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated:wall:

on a serious note, checked the gear linkages? gearbox oil? is there a short shifter fitted that you dont know about?

Check clutch and cable too when my clutch was knackered 1 and 2 were awkward to get in

Thanks for all the replies. i know little bout car mechanics is greasing the link rods and gear lever easy? Can a mechanic check simply without high charge?

Short shifter, not a clue how do i check?

Hope not overloading with questions. And appreciate advice.

i'd loosen of the clutch cable see if that helps, mine was like this then it snapped.
