Hi, looking for some advice please i have a saxo furio, 67k on the clock, going from neutral to first, it seems to knock, and sounds very noisy when you move the gear knob left to right. very very floppy loose, but this has been the case really since i bought her a year ago now, only goes in reverse when it feels like it, just started to make a zipping noise, {only wayi can describe it,} sorry like zipping up your jacket, when i put her in first and third gear, any help much appriciated, before i have to book her in the local garage and they charge me a fortune.

The reason its doing this is because the ball has fallen of the gear selector arm,

Mines done it this weekend, as for the car sounding like a zip going from 2nd to first, What speed are you going from second to first in ? as anything over 15 - 20 MPH second to first the gearbox isnt deisgned to go in, i learnt on my first fuiro i used to sort of push it into first slowing down, and would hear this noise, not to much later i blewthe diff bearings in the box
Not wise
