basically taking turns getting asked qs infront of eachother. (mine was anyway)
tad intense if you're shy chatting crap infront of others when you know you could fail.

It won't be too bad, I had one when I went for a job at Talk Talk.
It's like were you break the ice, work as a team and show that you have team skills.

I fucking hate those questions.
What utter cunt decided, for minimum, or low wage (under say £10 ph) grunt jobs (i.e. everything below supervisor/manager) to ask the following questions;
"What can you bring to the company?"
"What qualities do you have that make you suitable for this position?"
"Why do you want to work for us?"
To. Earn. Fucking. Money. You. Fuck. Why the fuck does a shelf stacker need to answer these questions? Utter bullshit.

I had group interview at ASDA, you basically introduced yourself to the group then co-ordinator asked some questions which you all answered and did some group tasks, think we had to design a product box or something was ages ago.
Had an interview for Tesco's recently was only 1 on 1 though, asked lots of customer service questions. I.E what do you consider to be good customer service.

I work at tesco...unfortunatly, i didnt have a group interview, but the interview questions were so easy, theres not really a wrong answer.
Also, depending on the manager/position, but im pretty sure theyll let anyone in. The morons i speak to who work on checkouts... i seriously doubt they can even spell their own name! ;)

I went for an interview at McDonalds. One of the questions was "say a customer asked for coffee, and we had none, what would you do". I was like "ask them if they wanted to pick another drink". Interviewer said, enthusiastically, "yeah, totally, its not as if we can run down sainsburys and buy them some more!".
WTF.

I had one a few years ago, at Argos. They made us sit on the floor and work in groups to build a tower made from spaghetti pasta and marshmallows... I thought I was just going to be asked a few questions :homme:

I've had one for Tesco, and it wasn't too bad. Just make yourself stand out (in a good way). Try answering questions when they ask the group and just dress smart. Try to be confident and you will be fine mate! Good luck :y:

I work for tesco's aswell :(
Never had a group interview, Only 1 to 1.
20-30 mins work sample (stacking a shelf) and then 5-10 min interview with the manager.
Any tom, dick or harry could get a job at tesco :y:

They're pretty crap in my experience.
I've had three group interviews at my local tesco over 2 or 3 years, just for part time work.
One time I was loud, keen, answering questions before anyone else.
Next time I was quieter, laid back, letting other people go first
Third time I was bit of both, didn't really care.
Wore a suit one time, wore casual clothes next time, wore smart/casual too.
Got on really well with the others, didn't bother the next time.
Done a work sample on checkouts perfectly as I had previous experience of working at Sainsbury's for two years!
Still got a small collection of 'NO' letters in my drawer ..
No idea what they want out of you... Not like I was trying for store manager or anything.

They asked us to introduce ourselves then asked what we could bring to Tesco. They also asked simple questions like what we liked to do in our spare time..
Same as a normal job interview I would presume, just you have to answer the questions to the managers and also the group listening. Grocery's a very easy job, I take it your going to be working in an Extra or super store?

If you get an interview with Tesco you get the job 99% of the time. I've known people to fail the interview at my store and they still gave them a job. Never heard of a group interview with Tesco though and i've been there nearly 4 years.

No offence but you don't apply for a job at tesco to enjoy it ;) it's money and money only there, no happyness or people being happy there at any store in the UK, there all grumpy etc
But have a word with your department manager and see what He/she can do :y:
I applied for grocery assistant when i first applied then got put in warehouse, didnt bother me, it's boring and i hate it but it's £££££
